Emergency Response System Integration at Cardinal Gibbons High School

This document is a case study detailing the integration of Raptor Alert and Vivi-enabled displays at Cardinal Gibbons High School in Raleigh, NC. The objective of this integration was to enhance the school's emergency response capabilities by creating a unified alerting platform. The previous emergency communication system was characterized by disjointed processes, which hindered effective communication during emergencies. The integration allows for instant alerts across classroom screens and enables decentralized alert activation, empowering multiple authorized personnel to initiate alerts. This reduces reliance on a single point of failure and improves response times. Additionally, the system accommodates diverse needs by providing both visual and auditory alerts, catering to individuals who are hard of hearing or deaf. The case study outlines how the new system addresses prior challenges, including the need for silent communication during lockdowns, thereby enhancing overall safety and inclusivity within the school environment.
