Survey on Mission Critical Power Trends for Data Centers

This document is a survey report exploring trends and attitudes towards mission critical power in data centers as they approach 2025. It discusses the anticipated increase in global power consumption driven by advancements in generative AI and machine learning, projecting a 50% rise by 2027. The survey highlights the challenges faced by data center operators, such as aging electrical infrastructure and the need for reliable power sources. It also examines the priorities of businesses regarding power supply, emphasizing the importance of securing a reliable power supply and updating uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems. The report details various strategies for managing power delivery, including server consolidation and the use of intelligent power distribution units (PDUs). Additionally, it addresses the necessity of adapting to new technologies and the collaborative approach emerging within the industry to tackle these challenges. The findings are based on feedback from 131 global respondents.
