This case study details the implementation of the Rave 911 Suite in Grove City, Ohio, aimed at enhancing emergency response capabilities for mobile 9-1-1 calls. The challenge faced by Grove City was significant, as 62% of 9-1-1 calls originated from mobile phones, which often lack precise location data. This issue is critical during emergencies where callers may be unable to communicate their location. The Rave 911 Suite was introduced to provide 9-1-1 telecommunicators with vital data through Smart911 Safety Profiles, which include essential information such as addresses and medical details. Since its implementation in November 2013, the system has positively impacted over 3,000 calls and facilitated more than 2,100 chat sessions between telecommunicators and callers. The case study highlights a specific incident where the Smart911 profile enabled a swift response to a domestic violence situation, showcasing the effectiveness of the technology in saving lives and improving response times.
