This case study details the implementation of the Liquit application management platform by the International Ocean Discovery Program (IODP) at Texas A&M University. The IODP faced challenges with their legacy application management system, ZENworks, which hindered efficient application deployment and updates, especially during the transition to remote work due to the pandemic. The IT team evaluated various alternatives before selecting Liquit, which provided a cloud-based solution that enabled faster application deployment and automated updates. The transition involved setting up a cloud environment and educating users on accessing applications through the Liquit Setup Store. The results included significant time savings for the IT team, with application package development time reduced drastically, and improved user satisfaction as end users adapted to the self-service capabilities of the Liquit platform. Future plans include expanding Liquit’s use within IODP to enhance operational efficiency further.
