This research article investigates the effectiveness and challenges of e-learning and AI integration at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) in Oman. It employs a quantitative research paradigm using a case study design, distributing questionnaires to 435 students and 48 lecturers to assess their experiences and perceptions regarding e-learning technologies. The findings indicate a moderate usage of e-learning tools among students and faculty, with mean scores of 3.03 and 3.12, respectively. While students show a willingness to use AI tools, significant challenges in implementation are noted, reflected in a mean score of 3.41. Faculty members express satisfaction with the e-learning process, but a lack of training opportunities is identified as a barrier, with a mean score of 2.90. The study concludes that despite the integration of e-learning at SQU, there is a lag in the development of teaching practices, highlighting the need for faculty development programs focused on AI teaching practices and enhancing digital literacy skills among students.
