This research article examines the challenges faced by Somalia's fisheries sector regarding quality, safety, and trade. It identifies critical post-harvest issues such as inadequate cold storage, poor hygiene practices, and insufficient refrigeration that lead to spoilage and reduced product quality. The study is based on interviews with 20 industry stakeholders, including fish sellers and government officials, highlighting lax enforcement of regulations and noncompliance with international standards like ISO 22000 and HACCP. The article proposes strategies to enhance the fisheries sector, including improving cold storage facilities, increasing training for local fish sellers, and fostering international partnerships. It emphasizes the need for Somalia to align its fish products with global market standards to enhance competitiveness and promote economic growth. The methodology includes descriptive research design and data collection through interviews and secondary sources, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the sector's challenges and potential solutions.
