This research article presents an evidence map of systematic reviews related to teledermatology, highlighting the increasing number of studies in this field. The objective of the review is to describe the landscape of teledermatology research, identify knowledge gaps, and outline research needs. The evidence map was developed following the Campbell Collaboration checklist, analyzing 14 systematic reviews published between 2004 and 2023. The findings indicate that teledermatology is generally accepted by patients and comparable to traditional clinic dermatology, although concerns regarding privacy, communication, and technology familiarity persist. The article details the characteristics of included systematic reviews, including the types of dermatological conditions studied and the overlap of primary studies. It emphasizes the necessity for further research to establish standardized outcome measures and improve the effectiveness and safety of teledermatology, particularly in diverse settings and populations. The study also notes the impact of COVID-19 on the adoption of telemedicine in clinical care.
