This technical report presents a novel wearable system designed for the integrated analysis of sweat chloride levels, specifically aimed at improving the diagnostic process for cystic fibrosis (CF). The system utilizes a flexible, miniaturized platform that combines automated iontophoresis stimulation with microfluidic sweat collection and colorimetric analysis. It addresses the limitations of traditional sweat testing methods, which often require bulky equipment and trained personnel, by providing a point-of-care solution that is cost-effective and user-friendly. Clinical validation involving over 50 subjects demonstrates that this device achieves strong agreement with established clinical protocols, while significantly reducing the per-test cost to approximately one dollar. The findings suggest that this wearable platform can enhance accessibility to CF diagnostics, particularly in resource-limited settings, thereby facilitating earlier diagnosis and better management of the disease. The report outlines the design, functionality, and clinical implications of the CF SWIFT system, positioning it as a promising alternative for both clinical and at-home use.
