This case study details the implementation of an Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) solution at a top-10 injectable pharmaceutical manufacturer. The company faced challenges due to rapid growth, which outpaced their existing manual and Excel-based processes. To address these issues, they selected Workday Adaptive Planning after a comprehensive review of available solutions. Key reasons for this choice included its user-friendly interface, Excel-like functionality, and the ability to scale across the organization. The implementation was expedited by prior work on reporting processes and the virtual nature of the project due to the pandemic. The finance team has since expanded the use of Adaptive Planning beyond finance, creating models for various operational metrics and KPIs. The organization aims to further integrate Adaptive Planning into sales and operations planning, enhancing their forecasting capabilities and overall business performance.
