This case study documents the collaboration between a publicly traded real estate investment trust (REIT) and Revelwood to optimize the performance of IBM Planning Analytics. The REIT faced significant memory usage issues due to an allocation cube that required over 30GB of RAM, which hindered processing speed. Revelwood's team worked closely with the REIT's finance and planning team to analyze their business requirements and discovered that most properties were associated with only one tenant. This insight allowed them to streamline the model, reducing the cube's memory requirement from over 30GB to just 65MB, achieving an improvement of more than 99%. The approach taken involved creating a TurboIntegrator script to identify relevant property-tenant combinations and updating processing rules accordingly. This strategic collaboration not only resolved the technical issue but also aligned the cube processing with the REIT's business needs, demonstrating the value of integrating technology solutions with business processes.
