This case study details the implementation of an Agile approach by dsm-firmenich to enhance its research and development workflow. Initially, the company employed a waterfall methodology for deploying Revvity Signals, which led to challenges in user engagement and product effectiveness. The project faced difficulties due to its linear nature, resulting in a product that did not meet user needs. Recognizing these issues, the Digital Project Lead proposed a shift to Agile practices, allowing each lab to appoint a Product Owner to represent their specific requirements. This collaborative approach facilitated the development of a standardized platform, Revvity Signals Notebook, tailored to the unique needs of each business unit. The Agile methodology emphasized incremental development cycles, enabling labs to join the project based on observed progress. This transformation fostered a sense of ownership among researchers and improved participation in the project, ultimately leading to a more effective and user-centric research platform.
