TransAlta Videoconferencing Solution Case Study

This case study outlines the collaboration between TransAlta and Ricoh to enhance videoconferencing capabilities. TransAlta, a global energy provider, faced challenges in communication across its dispersed teams in Western Australia due to a reliance on a small video conferencing unit. To address these challenges, TransAlta commissioned Ricoh to design a bespoke videoconferencing solution that included a mobile 'super trolley' equipped with two 65-inch Yealink digital meeting boards, a Yealink UVC86 camera, and wireless microphones. The new system supports larger meetings and provides a more intuitive user experience, significantly improving collaboration and reducing the need for travel. The installation has led to reliable video and audio quality, allowing for seamless global townhalls and local meetings.
