This technical report outlines a collaborative research project between Roche Products Limited and University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust aimed at understanding barriers to clinical trial recruitment among ethnic minority patients. The project focuses on patients affected by Breast Cancer, Alzheimer's Disease, Rheumatology, and Stroke. The rationale for the research stems from the significant disparity in participation rates among ethnic minorities in clinical trials across the UK, which can affect the generalizability of research findings. The project will be conducted in three phases: a literature review, patient demographic data collection, and qualitative research to identify barriers. The expected outcomes include recommendations to enhance recruitment efforts and improve access for ethnic minority patients to clinical trials. The findings will be published in a peer-reviewed journal, contributing to the advancement of inclusive research practices and improving health service experiences for diverse populations.
