This case study details the deployment of Japan's first Wi-Fi 7 environment at Otani University, utilizing the RUCKUS R770 access points. The initiative, launched in Fall 2024, aimed to address connectivity challenges in high-density classrooms, where over 3,100 students and faculty frequently experienced radio wave interference. The university selected RUCKUS for its superior interference resistance and wide-area coverage, which are critical for maintaining stable connections in large lecture halls. The implementation involved a campus-wide rollout, expanding from an initial deployment in the Keimonkan Building to all facilities, including the library and faculty offices. The RUCKUS BeamFlex+® technology was highlighted for its ability to direct optimal signals to individual devices. Looking ahead, Otani University is considering RUCKUS One, an AI-driven platform, to enhance network operations and address issues related to device connectivity. This case study illustrates the university's commitment to providing a seamless wireless environment for its academic community.
