This report presents the findings of a research study conducted by Runa in March 2023, focusing on employee rewards and recognition preferences among 688 employees in Germany, the UK, and the US. The study aims to understand what keeps employees engaged and motivated, highlighting the importance of reward programs in employee retention. Key findings reveal that holidays and performance achievements are the most common occasions for rewards, with gift cards being the preferred reward type for 61% of employees. The report notes that many employees express dissatisfaction with the current rewards they receive, with only 30% fully satisfied. It emphasizes the need for organizations to align their reward programs with employee preferences, particularly by offering flexibility in reward redemption. The study also indicates that while traditional rewards are still prevalent, there is growing interest in non-traditional rewards such as cryptocurrency. Overall, the findings suggest that enhancing rewards and recognition programs can significantly impact employee satisfaction and retention.
