This case study details the production processes of Rerooted Organic, a producer of organic plant-based milk based in Devon, U.K. The company focuses on sustainability and utilizes a circular production model, including the use of glass bottles for its products. The study outlines the challenges faced by Rerooted Organic in its milk production, particularly with the use of a pneumatic press and a 150-micron bag filter, which resulted in slow production and grainy milk texture due to inefficiencies. The company sought a solution and discovered the Finex 22” Sieve from Russell Finex. The installation of this machine improved production efficiency by halving the separation time and enhancing milk quality through the use of a 50-micron stainless steel mesh. The automation of the process reduced manual handling, allowing operators to focus on other tasks. The case study presents the operational improvements and benefits achieved through the adoption of the Finex 22” Sieve.
