Modernization of Legacy Front-End Application to ReactJS

This case study outlines the modernization of a legacy front-end application by migrating to ReactJS. The original application, which was over 15 years old, faced significant challenges including poor maintainability, integration difficulties with modern APIs, inconsistent user experience across devices, security vulnerabilities, and high onboarding efforts for new developers. To address these issues, a cross-functional team of front-end and back-end engineers was formed to rebuild the user interface while ensuring compatibility with back-end systems. The modernization process involved using ReactJS along with HTML5 and CSS3, and implementing CI/CD pipelines for deployment. The outcomes of this initiative included improved maintainability due to React's modular architecture, accelerated development through reusable components, enhanced security by remediating legacy vulnerabilities, and increased scalability and productivity. The project ultimately aims to enhance user experience for over 10 million users, driving engagement and revenue for the enterprise.
