This report presents findings from the 6th Annual Global Business Travelers Report, which examines the experiences and perceptions of business travelers regarding travel flexibility, cost-cutting measures, and the impact of artificial intelligence on travel management. Conducted by Wakefield Research on behalf of SAP Concur, the survey involved 3,750 business travelers across 24 global markets. Key findings indicate that a significant majority of travelers (67%) view business travel as critical to their careers, yet 91% have experienced cutbacks in travel flexibility over the past year. These restrictions have led to increased tensions between employees and employers, as 92% of travelers are willing to decline trips due to safety or work-life balance concerns. The report also highlights the prevalence of pre-travel approvals, with 67% of travelers noting a rise in such requirements, which complicates adherence to travel plans amid fluctuating conditions. The findings emphasize the need for a new understanding of flexibility that aligns both traveler and company objectives.
