Built-In Ionizer for Weighing in Battery Material Extraction

This case study outlines a customer's challenge in battery material extraction, specifically the need for reliable balances in their R&D and QC labs. The customer required hassle-free weighing of static powders, accurate measurements prior to chemical and physical characterization, and easy data collection for Design of Experiments analytics. Sartorius provided a solution by arranging an on-site demonstration of the Cubis® II balance, which features five-digit precision, an advanced user interface, built-in ionizer, and motorized leveling. The customer found that these features effectively addressed their challenges with stability and electrostatic disturbances. Additionally, for less demanding applications, the Entris® II Essential balance was recommended. The customer ultimately selected both models for their labs and production, with Sartorius providing installation, calibration, and training. A yearly maintenance contract was also signed to ensure longevity and minimize downtime of the balances.
