This case study outlines the transformation of work-based learning in the Elko County School District through the implementation of SchooLinks. The district serves approximately 10,000 students, with a focus on enhancing career readiness opportunities. Prior to SchooLinks, tracking student experiences was cumbersome, relying on paper applications and Google Forms. The adoption of SchooLinks centralized data management, streamlined communication with industry partners, and improved compliance reporting. Since its implementation in 2020, the district has expanded from zero recorded work-based learning experiences to over 743 by 2024. This initiative has evolved into a district-wide priority, integrating work-based learning across all student populations, including special education. The case study highlights the significant improvements in efficiency and accuracy in tracking student engagement and experiences, showcasing the platform's role in modernizing career readiness programs and providing meaningful career exploration tools for students.
