Improving Retention and Access in NSCLC Clinical Trials

This case study outlines Scout's approach to enhancing participant engagement in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) clinical trials. It details the logistical challenges faced by participants, including respiratory symptoms, fatigue, and limited mobility, which complicate sustained participation in trials with frequent visits. Scout's services included transportation coordination, reimbursement management, and visit logistics, all tailored to accommodate the evolving health needs of participants. The study highlights how flexible scheduling and direct coordination helped reduce administrative burdens for clinical sites while improving participant retention rates. Notably, Scout-supported studies achieved an 82.3% retention rate, which is a 13.9 percentage point improvement over non-Scout sites, alongside a 44% reduction in participant discontinuations. The case study emphasizes the importance of tailored logistics and ongoing communication to support participants in navigating their health challenges and maintaining engagement throughout the trial process.
