This document is a technical report detailing two studies conducted by researchers from the University of Seville and the University of Lisbon, utilizing Screening Eagle Technologies’ Proceq GP8800 for concrete assessments in challenging environments. The first study focuses on a multi-storey building near the sea, which is experiencing concrete cladding detachment and reinforcement corrosion. The researchers aimed to characterize the materials of the exposed concrete façade, identifying areas lacking rebar and insufficient concrete cover, leading to recommendations for a protective maintenance program. The second study investigates a radiotherapy bunker, assessing its structural characteristics and the concrete used for radiation shielding. The findings reveal the presence of double walls composed of conventional and barite concrete, confirming the reinforcement's condition through non-destructive testing methods. Both studies illustrate the effectiveness of Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) as a reliable on-site testing method, providing valuable data without the need for destructive testing.
