This technical report presents the findings from a geophysical survey conducted by Máté Stibrányi, PhD, and Zsombor Klembala in collaboration with The Hungarian National Museum. The investigation focused on a large ditch identified through aerial imagery, utilizing GPR Slice software to analyze data from a ground penetrating radar survey. The results revealed a round-shaped feature, identified as a rotunda church, dating from the 9th to the 13th century. Unusual characteristics of this structure include a large ditch surrounding it and a deep round feature at its center, which is believed to be a stone well potentially used for baptism. This finding suggests significant historical and cultural implications, particularly in relation to the Carolingian Empire. The report emphasizes the importance of detailed analysis in archaeological surveys and the potential for future excavations based on these findings, highlighting the role of geophysical methods in uncovering Hungary's buried cultural heritage.
