This case study details the cybersecurity enhancements implemented by a large agricultural lending cooperative in the United States. The cooperative, which employs over 1,000 individuals and serves more than 100,000 customers, faced challenges in managing vendor risk and ensuring compliance with the Farm Credit Administration's guidelines. The Chief Security Officer identified inefficiencies in the existing vendor assessment process, which relied on point-in-time questionnaires that did not provide real-time visibility into vendor security postures. To address these issues, the cooperative adopted the SecurityScorecard platform, enabling continuous monitoring of third-party vendors. This transition improved the vendor onboarding process and allowed for regular risk reporting to internal governance committees and external regulators. The platform's features facilitated better communication regarding vendor risks and enhanced the cooperative's overall security posture. The case study illustrates the significant improvements in resource management and risk visibility achieved through the implementation of SecurityScorecard.
