State of Enterprise Cyber Crisis Readiness

This technical report presents findings from a global study examining how organizations prepare for and respond to cyber threats. Conducted by Semperis in partnership with Censuswide, the study surveyed 1,000 organizations across various regions, including the US, UK, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. The report outlines significant gaps in communication and coordination that hinder effective cyber incident response, despite many organizations having crisis response plans in place. Key findings indicate that while 90% of organizations have activated their crisis response teams in the past year, 71% experienced high-impact cyber incidents that disrupted critical business functions. The report identifies major blockers to effective response, including communication gaps, outdated plans, and unclear roles. It emphasizes the need for organizations to enhance their crisis response plans through regular tabletop exercises that involve all relevant stakeholders. The report concludes that improving cross-team communication and tailoring response plans to specific organizational needs are essential for achieving operational resilience in the face of cyber threats.
