This report presents findings from a national study conducted by Seramount to examine the state of mental health in the workplace. The research involved over 1,000 employees from companies with at least 500 workers, focusing on various demographics. It identifies key issues such as the decline in mental health among employees, with half rating their well-being as average or below. The study highlights that requests for mental health leave are increasing and that employees, particularly Gen Z and Millennials, are experiencing significant burnout. Many workers feel unsupported by their organizations, with less than half believing their companies provide adequate mental health resources. The report outlines employees' desires for expanded mental health benefits, increased flexibility, and empathetic management. It concludes with recommendations for organizations to enhance support for employee mental health, emphasizing the need for structural support and empathetic leadership to address these challenges effectively.
