This report examines the influence of healthcare influencers, also known as Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), on physician sentiment and decision-making. Utilizing Sermo’s RealTime technology, a quantitative online survey was administered to 1,010 physicians across Europe, APAC, and North America. The objectives of the report include identifying what makes an influencer trusted within the healthcare community, understanding the impact of these influencers on physician perceptions, and providing strategies to enhance influencer engagement. The findings indicate that physicians predominantly prefer to receive medication information from their peers rather than pharmaceutical representatives. Additionally, the report details the characteristics that contribute to a KOL's credibility, emphasizing the importance of professional credentials and evidence-based content. Different specialties exhibit varied preferences regarding the type and format of information received from influencers. This highlights the need for tailored influencer strategies within the pharmaceutical sector.
