This document is a case study detailing the design, supply, and installation of an Inertion Management System for a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in the United Kingdom. The project was initiated following a HAZOP assessment that identified the need for an Independent Layer of Protection Analysis to achieve a SIL2 rating due to explosion risks associated with the Filter Dryer. The SGS GAS project team developed a custom design that met and exceeded the User Requirement Specification (URS). Key considerations included pressure and vacuum ranges, ATEX compliance, and material compatibility. The system incorporated a Servomex 1900 Oxy for O2 measurements and a SIL2 pressure transmitter. Construction was conducted by qualified engineers, and a Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) was completed before installation. The document also outlines recent projects and the comprehensive documentation and support provided to customers, including maintenance instructions and compliance reports.
