This document is a guide on the amfori Quality Management Initiative (QMI), which presents a standardized and integrated approach to quality management system audits. It is designed for non-food organizations to monitor and enhance the quality management capabilities of producers, thereby fostering responsible and sustainable supply chains for global buyers, brands, and retailers. The one-day on-site audits assess producers in China, India, Vietnam, and Thailand across four key areas: infrastructure, system and environment; product design; incoming materials quality control; and production control. The audit data is stored in the amfori Sustainability Platform, allowing members to identify best practices and areas for quality improvement. The document also outlines the importance of amfori QMI in addressing challenges related to inconsistent assessments and resource management in international supply chains. It highlights the benefits for both amfori members and producers, including reduced assessment resources and improved quality management processes.
