This case study outlines the implementation of ShareForce as a solution for Absa Group Limited's share plan management processes. Prior to ShareForce, Absa faced numerous challenges with a legacy platform that did not meet the specific requirements for share schemes in South Africa and across Africa. Manual processes for updating employee details, managing terminations, and reconciling dividend calculations were time-consuming and inefficient. ShareForce provided a comprehensive solution that automated these manual processes, improved employee communication, and simplified reporting for auditors and stakeholders. The integration with Absa's HRIS system, Workday, allowed for seamless updates and eliminated month-end manual tasks. The platform also streamlined vesting and award processes, significantly reducing the time required for these tasks. Enhanced reporting capabilities improved audit responses and overall accuracy. Additionally, ShareForce supported the implementation of a broad-based black economic empowerment transaction, demonstrating its adaptability to Absa's evolving needs.
