This case study details the implementation of the Owner Relations Portal by a leading shale oil and gas producer. The client, a significant player in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico and a key natural gas supplier to Peninsular Malaysia and Thailand, faced challenges in managing relations with approximately 19,000 private Royalty Owners in the United States. The previous system required extensive personnel and time-consuming phone calls for address changes and payment inquiries. The new BTP-based portal centralizes information management, allowing Royalty Owners to update contact and banking information, view ownership and payment history, and submit inquiries. Following the launch, 1,000 Royalty Owners registered within 18 hours, and the number has since grown to over 12,000. This transition has significantly reduced the staffing requirements for customer care and resulted in a 30% savings in operational expenses, demonstrating the effectiveness of the self-service model.
