This technical report outlines the São Paulo Metro Line 6-Orange project, a significant infrastructure initiative in Latin America, developed by Acciona. The project spans 15.3 km and includes 15 stations, enhancing connectivity from the Brasilândia district to São Joaquim station in the city center. The report details the project's objectives, including a substantial reduction in travel time from 90 minutes by bus to approximately 23 minutes by metro. It describes the advanced construction methods employed, such as Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) for tunnel excavation and various station excavation techniques tailored to geological conditions. The report also highlights the challenges faced during construction, including deep station excavations and complex geological profiles, and the innovative solutions provided by Sika, which include specialized products for TBM operations, concrete production, and waterproofing. Completion is anticipated in 2026, with an expected daily ridership of around 630,000 passengers.
