This case study details the engagement of Simeio with a government-run information technology department for a major US state. The client faced significant challenges with their pre-existing platform, which inadequately mixed internal state users with external citizen users, resulting in security and efficiency gaps. The outdated system lacked the capacity for stable growth, leading to operational difficulties and failed attempts to modernize features such as multi-factor authentication (MFA). Simeio was selected through a standard RFP process and successfully migrated existing identities and applications to a new platform while ensuring coexistence with the old system during the transition. The new platform was designed to provide similar functionality to the previous systems without dependency, allowing for future expansion with additional applications and identities. The project involved the migration of 1.5 million identities at launch, with a capacity set for over 8 million identities and 70 applications. The case study concludes with positive feedback from the client regarding the smooth rollout process.
