This case study outlines the challenges faced by a worldwide investment firm in the finance sector regarding their identity management deployment. The firm, with an employee size of 2.5k-5k and annual revenue between $100-$500 million, experienced security gaps and regulatory risks due to an unoptimized implementation of SailPoint's Identity IQ. Following the appointment of a new Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), the firm recognized the need for a comprehensive identity assessment to identify flaws in their existing system. Simeio was engaged to provide an advisory and assessment workshop, which included a maturity benchmark and interviews with on-site staff. The assessment revealed gaps in the identity management systems and led to two major system overhauls: transitioning from SailPoint IIQ to SailPoint Identity Security Cloud and securely migrating over 4,000 identities. The findings from Simeio's assessment were crucial in addressing the integration issues and improving the overall identity management framework.
