Monitoring Wind Farm Data Using WebView Application

This case study details the implementation of Skkynet’s Cogent DataHub™ WebView™ application by a power production company in Istanbul to monitor and display real-time data from their wind farms. The company, which has invested in renewable energy sources, sought a solution to efficiently track turbine operations and energy production from a central office. The challenge involved integrating data from two remote wind farms controlled by SCADA systems that could not connect directly to the Internet. NSC Teknoloji, Skkynet’s partner in Turkey, installed DataHub software at each site, linking them to a WebView instance at the central office. The system successfully transmits over 30,000 data points with a 1-second refresh time, allowing the Director of Operations to view critical metrics, including megawatt production and turbine status, on a single web page. Future plans include adding data from a third wind farm to the system.
