Oracle EPM Cloud Implementation for MWRA

This case study details the implementation of Oracle EPM Cloud by the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA) to replace its unsupported Hyperion Pillar system. The project aimed to address significant challenges faced by the budgeting department, which included manual data entry, duplicate data across spreadsheets, and inefficient reporting processes. The scope of the project included migrating historical data, developing unified reporting views, and automating interfaces for external system refreshes. MWRA engaged SMACT Works for their expertise in Oracle EPM Cloud implementation, which was completed within a 16-week timeframe to meet critical budgeting deadlines. The methodology employed by SMACT Works involved a structured six-phase approach: Plan, Design, Configure, Test, Deploy, and Support. Post-implementation, MWRA continued its partnership with SMACT for ongoing managed services, ensuring continuous improvement and operational excellence. Key outcomes included reduced IT maintenance, simplified reporting, automated data loads, and the elimination of duplicate entries.
