This case study outlines the collaboration between UCare, a nonprofit health plan, and Softheon to enhance member satisfaction and operational efficiency. UCare faced challenges due to manual processes affecting shopping, enrollment, and billing, which hindered their scalability. The partnership with Softheon led to significant improvements in both On-Exchange and Off-Exchange operations. Digital communication strategies were also implemented, significantly decreasing processing times for invoices and delinquencies. Additionally, UCare experienced a notable increase in APTC reimbursements due to improved reconciliation accuracy.
