Cloud-Based Data Platform for Energy Solutions

This document is a technical report detailing the implementation of a cloud-based data platform for e.kundenservice Netz, now known as E.ON Grid Solutions. The report outlines the challenges faced with decentralized data systems and the need for a consolidated data solution to improve efficiency in energy consumption analysis for 14 million customers. It describes the collaboration with SoftwareOne to migrate on-premises SAP systems to a multi-tiered cloud deployment using Azure. The implementation of the SAP BW/4 system landscape in Azure is highlighted, including the use of Azure NetApp Files for scalability, performance, and data protection. The report details the outcomes of this transition, including reduced costs, improved innovation, enhanced customer experience, and greater sustainability.
