This report details the findings of the SoftwareOne Cloud Skills Survey, which indicates that 98% of organizations globally are experiencing a cloud skills gap. This gap is causing delays in digital transformation projects, with businesses reporting an average setback of five months. The survey, which included 500 IT decision-makers from various regions, reveals that 95% believe their teams have been adversely affected by this skills shortage. Key areas impacted include security and compliance, application performance, and the achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs). Furthermore, one-third of respondents have had to limit their cloud usage. Looking ahead, 87% of IT decision-makers are optimistic about improvements in their organizations' cloud skills over the next five years. They view investment in cloud-managed services as essential for overcoming the current challenges, with 93% prioritizing such investments in the next year. The report underscores the critical need to address the cloud skills gap to facilitate successful digital transformation.
