Centralized Data Governance Solution Implementation

This document is a case study detailing how NOW: Pensions implemented a centralized data governance solution using Solidatus. The objective of the initiative was to create a Business Data Model to enhance and organize their data structure, alongside establishing Data Quality Rules to prevent the influx of bad data and to assess the quality of existing data. The case study outlines three primary challenges faced by NOW: Pensions, including the complexity of their legacy data environment, the need for a reliable Business Data Model, and the necessity for Data Quality Rules. It describes the process of mapping data lineage using Solidatus, which provided clarity on data origins and flow. Additionally, a Business Glossary was developed to standardize terminology across the organization. The implementation resulted in improved data governance, transparency, and collaboration among users, allowing for effective management of data quality and compliance with GDPR regulations.
