Streamlining Development of Surgical Instruments

This case study details the implementation of 3DEXPERIENCE Works solutions by GEOMED Medizin-Technik GmbH & Co. KG to enhance the development of surgical and dental instruments. The objective was to improve collaboration and communication between design teams in Germany and Indonesia, addressing challenges such as language barriers and time zone differences. By integrating cloud-based solutions into their existing SOLIDWORKS installation, GEOMED aimed to streamline product development workflows and reduce design cycle times. The solutions included Collaborative Designer for SOLIDWORKS and AutoCAD, among others. As a result, GEOMED reported improved product development flow, reduced errors, and enhanced efficiency in processing customer requests. The case study emphasizes the transition from traditional data management systems to a unified cloud-based product lifecycle management (PLM) system, which has facilitated better data accuracy and global operations. Overall, the adoption of 3DEXPERIENCE Works has significantly optimized GEOMED's product release processes and collaboration efforts.
