This case study details the implementation of SolutionSoft's Time Machine in a major migration and consolidation project following the merger of two large German banks. The newly formed entity aimed to consolidate over 1,600 applications across various operating systems while ensuring the integrity of date and time processing, which is critical for banking operations. The challenges included the need for testing core applications across multiple platforms without altering system time, as well as managing future date changes across numerous servers. Time Machine was selected as the solution after a proof of concept evaluation, allowing the bank to streamline its testing processes. The implementation facilitated the integration of data and applications across 1,184 servers, meeting all project requirements and completing the project within the set 18-month deadline. The case study highlights the specific customization required for the implementation, including control of virtual clocks and global time management across machines.
