This case study outlines the critical IT migration undertaken by the Medicines Evaluation Board (MEB) in collaboration with Solvinity during the COVID-19 pandemic. The MEB, an independent Dutch authority responsible for regulating the quality and safety of medicines, recognized the need to modernize its IT infrastructure to enhance its operational capabilities. The migration process was initiated after a thorough market consultation and tender process, emphasizing stringent cybersecurity requirements due to the sensitive nature of the information managed by the MEB. The migration to a new data center was completed within six months, despite the challenges posed by the pandemic. The project involved a 'lift & shift' approach to transfer existing applications to a more secure environment. Post-migration, the focus shifted towards further enhancing security and fostering innovation, with plans for ongoing collaboration with Solvinity to modernize the primary process system and expand cloud capabilities.
