This case study documents the experience of ARES, a family-owned specialty automotive hand-tool seller, in enhancing its supply chain management through the implementation of SourceDay's platform. Initially, ARES managed a limited number of suppliers and products, but as the company expanded, it faced significant challenges in managing purchase orders (POs) and supplier communications. The COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated these challenges, revealing inefficiencies and increasing complexity in their supply chain processes. ARES's Supply Chain Manager, Ian Hull, identified the need for a PO lifecycle management platform to regain control over inventory management and improve supplier engagement. After evaluating various tools, ARES adopted SourceDay, which provided a user-friendly experience for both the ARES team and its suppliers. Following the implementation, ARES reported a 70% increase in on-time delivery and significant improvements in supplier acknowledgment and engagement, demonstrating the effectiveness of the new platform in streamlining operations and enhancing communication.
