Optimizing CNC Digital Twins with CAD Data Reduction

This case study outlines COSCOM's collaboration with Spatial to enhance CNC manufacturing through intelligent CAD data reduction. It describes the evolution of their software solutions, starting from the integration of 3D ACIS Modeler in 2003 to the recent implementation of the Data Prep Add-On, which simplifies CAD data while preserving essential features. The TCI Data Preparation module allows for a significant reduction in the complexity of tool drawings, achieving nearly a 50% reduction in facets without losing critical information necessary for simulations.
