This case study details the implementation of the AutoJet Precision Spray Control System for an automotive company that required lubrication for metal blanks before stamping various parts. The existing method using air atomizing spray nozzles led to inconsistent oil application and overspray issues. The solution included two AutoJet 2150+ spray control panels, solid-state nozzle switches, and 24 PulsaJet electric spray nozzles with UniJet PWMD dovetail spray tips. The system was enclosed to ensure precise oil application on both sides of the metal blanks, with distance-based timing control for varying sizes. The integration of Precision Spray Control (PSC) allowed for uniform coverage and flow rate adjustments, significantly reducing oil waste and downtime. The case study emphasizes the improvements in sustainability and efficiency achieved through this advanced spray control technology, showcasing a 70% reduction in release oil and fewer spray nozzles needed.
