This case study details the collaboration between a U.K. healthcare provider and SS&C Blue Prism professional services to implement an intelligent automation solution for transferring referrals into the Epic electronic patient record system. The healthcare provider aimed to streamline operations by replacing over 200 existing paper and digital systems with Epic. The challenge was to ensure a seamless transfer of referrals from the existing electronic referral system (ERS) to Epic, especially with a tight deadline of three weeks before Epic's launch. SS&C Blue Prism's automation managed service team provided the necessary expertise and resources, allowing the healthcare provider to transfer nearly 30,000 referrals in just five weeks. The implementation of digital workers significantly reduced the time required for processing referrals, improving efficiency and patient experience. The healthcare provider has since requested ongoing support from SS&C Blue Prism to maintain the automation systems, ensuring continuous operation and reliability.
