This case study documents the implementation of the ARIS® curriculum in a transitional kindergarten classroom at Willow Woods Elementary, focusing on students with autism and developmental disabilities. Anne May, an experienced educator, received the ARIS® Thrive Grant, which provided her with a comprehensive curriculum designed to support students with significant behavioral and academic challenges. The study outlines how the ARIS® program facilitated substantial growth in communication skills among students, transforming their ability to express needs through language rather than behaviors. It also highlights the positive impact on special education aides, who took on more professional roles and contributed to improved classroom management. The success observed in Anne's classroom has led to plans for expanding the ARIS® curriculum to additional classrooms and districts, aiming for systemic transformation in early childhood special education. The structured approach of ARIS® is presented as a model for enhancing educational outcomes for students with special needs.
