This case study details the operational efficiency improvements achieved by LGL Recycling & Affiliated Companies through the implementation of the StarWind HCI Appliance (HCA). Founded in 1957, LGL Recycling serves various customer segments across Long Island, focusing on efficient waste collection and recycling. The company faced challenges with its outdated Dell PowerVault MD3200i storage system, which became increasingly costly and complex to maintain as business demands grew. The limitations of the legacy system hindered performance and scalability, prompting the search for a more effective solution. The StarWind HCI Appliance was selected for its affordability, performance, and ease of deployment. The installation process was straightforward, supported by StarWind’s team, leading to the establishment of a 2-node cluster that replaced the old infrastructure. The new hyperconverged platform has provided LGL Recycling with a stable IT environment that meets current operational needs while allowing for future growth.
