This research article examines the effects of the 'Childhood to Livelihood' (C2L) socio-emotional learning (SEL) intervention implemented by the Magic Bus India Foundation on school-related outcomes among adolescents in India. The study focuses on the development of life skills such as resilience, self-efficacy, and egalitarian gender attitudes, which are essential for navigating the challenges of adolescence. It presents the first formal test of a large-scale SEL intervention across multiple sites in India. The methodology employed includes a difference-in-difference approach to assess long-term impacts. The article outlines the program's key components, including education, gender equity, and socio-emotional skills, alongside the implementation strategy involving community youth leaders. Data collection methods are described, including baseline and endline assessments using computer-assisted personal interviewing. The findings indicate significant improvements in school attendance and aspirations for further education, particularly among younger participants, highlighting the importance of early intervention in life skills education.
